In charge? (BEDA18)

It happened. They decided they want me to orient to “charge” at work. I have been trying to avoid it. I don’t want to be in charge! I don’t want to have to be aware of every patient on the unit. I don’t want to be the one that everyone turns to when they need guidance on something. I don’t feel like I am strong enough for something like that! I don’t feel like I know how to be an ICU nurse well enough to be in charge of the whole unit.

As you can tell, the task is a wee bit daunting to me…

  1. From my experience, you’re going to be too busy to doubt yourself, and when you finallly have a moment, enough time would have gone by that you’ll realize you know what you’re doing.
