I see you

Reality tv, music videos, social media, the fashion industry, magazines, all of these things try to tell girls/women how we are supposed to look and behave. They try and tell us what makes a woman a “real woman”. Don’t fall for it. There is nothing wrong with you, I promise.

Shout out to the girls with deep voices who get called “sir” every time they have to answer the phone.

Shout out to the girls who have to shop in the plus size section for jeans because their hips are out of control.

Shout out to the girls who are plus size.

Shout out to the skinny girls that constantly get told to “eat a sandwich”, despite the fact they could eat you out of house and home.

Shout out to the girls that don’t have the socially acceptable “mixed girl” curls but instead have that comb breaking 4C hair.

Shout out to the girls with bone straight hair that won’t hold a curl for shit.

Shout out to the girls that only wear heels and couldn’t tell you the last time they owned a pair of sneakers.

Shout out to the girls that look like a new-born calf when they try to walk in heels.

Shout out to the girls that are taller than everyone they know.

Shout out to the girls that barely broke the five feet mark.

Shout out to the girls that have excess facial hair that makes them super self-conscious.

Shout out to the girls with hairy arms, hairy knuckles, hairy toes, and hair in all the other places girls aren’t supposed to have hair.

Shout out to the girls in their 20’s and 30’s that still have no idea what they really want to do with their lives.

Shout out to the girls in their 20’s and 30’s that enjoy manga, anime, video games, comic books, cons, and all the other “nerdy” stuff we “shouldn’t be doing” at our age.

Shout out to the girls in their 30’s that are single and not ready to mingle.

Shout out to all of us unmarried and completely unbothered girls.

Shout out to the girls that don’t have children.

Shout out to the girls that can’t have children.

Shout out to the girls that don’t want children.

Shout out to the girls that prefer carrying a wallet over a purse.

Shout out to the girls that wear a face full of makeup.

Shout out to the girls that wear no makeup at all.

Shout out to the pale girls that get told they need to get a tan.

Shout out the dark-skinned girls who get told to stay out of the sun or they might get darker, like that’s a bad thing.

Shout out to the light-skinned girls that are automatically considered stuck up for no damned reason other than the fact that we are light skinned.

Shout out to the girls that battle anxiety, depression, and other mental illnesses but keep getting told “it could be worse.”

Shout out to the introverts with friends that just don’t get it and think you are just being rude.

Shout out to the extroverts that can make friends wherever they are and somehow that makes you a hoe.

Shout out to the girls with the “not sexy” stretch marks.

Shout out to the girls with acne scars and current breakouts.

Shout out to every girl who has ever been made to feel like there is something wrong with you.

I see you. You are fucking fabulous. You are perfect in all of your weirdness. Don’t you dare change a thing.
